“Stevie J” Johnston’s has produced,
directed, written, performed, and
trained in Toronto, Hamilton, Cambridge,
Vancouver, New York, Chicago, and
Cuba. Of the many shows Stevie
Jay has appeared in during this
past year, playing “Yarm” in
Mike Kennard’s clown play The Hollow at CanStage’s Berkeley Street
Downstairs Theatre was one of his
favourites. Stevie has also co-produced
and directed theatre productions
such as Cabaret Vulgare at Buddies
in Bad Times and Sketchy Reality
at The Poor Alex Cabaret. He produces
a weekly open improv comedy jam
in Toronto, called, Jammin’ On
The One, and most recently appeared
in Stagewest’s production
of Charlotte’s
Web. He also just finished appearing
in an original Canadian play, in
Cambridge called, Whispering Lodge.
Stevie runs a production company
that has produced and represents
many films. One film, The Arbuckle
Academy, is currently on Bite TV
(Rogers channel 322). As well,
the company is in pre-production
for a short film co-starring Steve
Byers, the star of Global’s
Falcon Beach. Stevie J is also
currently producing Charlotte’s
Web for a limited run in Port Carling,
Muskoka.
